A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

Adapted for Young People by Judy Matetzschk-Campbell
This special 50-minute adaptation of Shakespeare's classic comedy is designed to be a child's introduction to The Bard's language and characters. This production focuses on the world of the Fairy King and Queen and the Rude Mechanicals, a group of tradesmen who gather in the woods on a summer night to rehearse a play they are preparing for the royal wedding.

Lou Clark's new play, WONDERDOG, will have everyone wondering if dogs really might have the power of super friendship if you rub their tummies. You just never know who might come to help you when you need them most!

PATTERN NATION

PATTERN NATION is Pollyanna's third installment of the adventures of Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, some unlikely friends who explore patterns found in music, nature and visual art, as well as patterns in human behavior. Pollyanna's youngest patrons loved Patterns and then More Patterns, making these returning characters some of the most popular characters Cicchini has ever created. This play is a fast-paced theatrical exploration that gives children in the audience an opportunity to recognize as well as make many different patterns, the building blocks of pre-literacy.
Will be enjoyed by audiences of all ages, even Pollyanna's youngest patrons who are ages 4-7.

If you and your children enjoyed Pollyanna's production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, you will not want to miss our young people's version of THE TEMPEST. This 50-minute version of the classic tale of mistaken identities, shipwrecks, and deserted islands make a wonderful introduction to Shakespeare's language, characters, and stories.

OUT OF MANY ... ONE: THE MONOLOGUE PROJECT
A New Dance Drama for Older Youth
This highly collaborative project brings together a community of engaged and invested artists and educators. Led by Ballet Austin, The Monologue Project is an extension of the ongoing partnership between Ballet Austin, Pollyanna Theatre, and the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum. The addition of The PHOENIX Center for Art & Soul has allowed us to capture our efforts on film, an invaluable resource for us all. Residency support was provided by all four of these organizations as well as Badgerdog Literary Publishing. Students from St. Edward’s University participated in the script’s development and as performers in the premiere performances of the production, Out of many…One, the Monologue Project.
Our partnership web site is still a work in progress and new information is being added daily.
This production is a collaboration with Ballet Austin and will be presented for school audiences on Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Ballet Austin Studio Theatre in the Butler Center for Dance Education. The public is welcome as well as school groups.
The production will be available to tour to area middle and high schools November 10-18. Dates available are limited.
