Pattern Nation was Pollyanna’s third installment of the adventures of Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow, some unlikely friends who explore patterns found in music, nature and visual art, as well as patterns in human behavior. Read an article about the production from the Austin Chronicle.
Pollyanna’s youngest patrons loved Patterns and then More Patterns, making these returning characters some of the most popular our company has ever created. This fast-paced theatrical exploration gave children in the audience an opportunity to recognize and help to make many different patterns, the building blocks of pre-literacy and early math skills.
At Pollyanna Theatre we believe in powerful education through the arts. Pattern Nation is a prime example of our dedication to merging educational curriculum with entertaining audience experience.
Presented July, 2009 at the Rollins Studio Theatre in the Long Center for the Performing Arts, and toured though Texas schools from Sept 2009-Jan 2010. The DVD of Pattern Nation is a fully produced digital video version with animation based on the stage production, and is available to purchase online now through Paypal.
