A Midsummer Night’s Dream

This special 50-minute adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic comedy was designed to be a child’s introduction to The Bard’s language and characters. This production focused on the world of the Fairy King and Queen and the Rude Mechanicals, a group of tradesmen who gather in the woods on a summer night to rehearse a play they are preparing for the royal wedding.

This production was enjoyed by children as young as 5 and as old as 90, but was most appropriate for students grades 2-5.

It was presented in August of 2008 at The Dougherty Arts Center Theatre and toured schools through January of 2009.
