PATTERN NATION: WAVES

Concept by Emily Cicchini, Written by Andrew Perry

Based on the very popular series of plays produced by the Pollyanna written by Emily Cicchini, this new play is based on the popular concepts and characters that were first seen on Pollyanna’s stage five years ago. Designed to support important pre-literacy skills needed for learning success among pre-school children, PATTERN NATION: WAVES will explore the colorful world of waves. Great for elementary school children of all ages, PATTERN NATION: WAVES will be most enjoyed by students in pre-K, Kinder, and grades 1 & 2.

Symphony of Clouds by Margaret Larlham

This production, co-produced by Ballet Austin, Symphony of Clouds is a dance theater production for all elementary-aged students that introduces them to Mozart’s childhood and the development of his musical gift. The production features our company of actors working with dancers and choreographer from Ballet Austin. Accompanying multi-disciplinary curricula and professional development available for the teachers of 3rd – 5th grade students.

GREEKS ALIVE! by Pollyanna Company Members

A Collection of Greek Myths for Young Audiences, this production featured two classical Greek Myths told through puppetry and live action by a talented ensemble of five actors. Included: Psyche and King Midas. GREEKS ALIVE! was designed to introduce students to the imaginative world of Greek Mythology through performance using story theatre techniques — and was great for supplementing a unit of study on Mythology in elementary classrooms. This show toured the Fall of 2011.

DUCKS VS SQUIRRELS: THE BATTLE FOR THE PARK

A New Play for Young Audiences by Andrew Perry

The Ducks do not understand the Squirrels and the Squirrels are terrified of the Ducks…This new play examined why neighbors often can not get along when the problem is only found in their minds.
The play was best for children ages 6 and older, and their families. This production was presented at The Long Center’s Rollins Studio Theatre July 14 – 17, 2011.

A pay what you wish party with Playwright, Andrew Perry, and the cast and crew was held after the 2 PM performance on Sunday, July 17 in the Long Center’s AT&T Education Room. Refreshments were provided, and guests had an opportunity to meet and pose for photographs with the cast. Toys from the production were also available for a suggested donation. All proceeds went to the preservation of the Arts and Theatre for Youth.

A Book signing party with author, Sandy Asher was held after the May 22 performance in the Long Center’s AT&T Education Room. Refreshments were served, books were available for purchase, and the cast of characters were available for photographs. Photography was provided by Love and Light Images. Mr. Greens, a toy from the production were also available for a donation.

Fresh off the stage of the Long Center, GREEKS ALIVE! toured Austin area schools.
